VALUES:

Enthusiasm
Assisted living merges the concepts of independent living and 24-hour support. It offers a home for people who value their autonomy and privacy, but also require assistance with daily living activities or supervision. Shared responsibility, choice and managed risk are the key concepts on which Assisted Living is founded. Dignity, independence, privacy, individuality, confidentiality and providing home amenities are hallmarks. Wherever possible, Assisted Living allows residents the opportunity to direct their own lives to the maximum extent of their abilities.
Designated Supportive Living is a term used by Alberta Health Services which indicates that there is subsidy and placement of persons requiring Assisted Living services into “designated” units. Residents of Choices in Community Living’s Lodges are placed through Alberta Health Services’ Continuing Care. Personal care is coordinated with Alberta Health Services on-site Case Managers. If you are interested in placement into a Choices in Community Living please contact an area Continuing Care branch.
